Data for research

Data for research: fields, coverage, and suppression rules for IndoEuroMap area aggregates. Free for academic use with citation.

Content updated · By Bernat Sampera

Fields

  • Area identifier, name, country, and administrative level.
  • Origin category shares, as a percentage of classified records.
  • Coverage notes: classified record count and known limits per area.
  • Population reference figures, where available, with their source.

The dataset holds area-level aggregates only. It does not hold individual records or individual name labels. Do not use the data to target or exclude people by origin.

Coverage

The current dataset spans 35 countries, 713 cities, and 5987 areas. Coverage varies by country and grows with each release.

Suppression of small groups

Small counts are suppressed to protect individuals. A suppressed value is not the same as a measured zero. Read the methodology for the active suppression rule.

Versioning

Each dataset export carries a release date. A figure can change after new records, a boundary correction, or a rule change. Keep the release date with any figure you cite.

Licence

Academic use is free with citation to IndoEuroMap and a link to this page. A commercial licence is available on request.

Request access

Send your organisation, use case, and the cities or countries you need. Request data for research by email. This opens your email app with a prefilled subject line.

See request a city report for a single prepared report instead of a dataset.
